A recruitment officer opened fire with an assault rifle. In Kryvyi Rih, the police detained a man who tried to rescue his son from territorial recruitment center staff

Employees of the territorial recruitment center staged a shooting during a forceful mobilization in Kryvyi Rih.

Videos of the incident have been published by local Telegram channels.

In one video, a military commissar is seen struggling with a man in black clothing, knocking him to the ground. An elderly man rushes to help the civilian, after which another employee of the territorial recruitment center fires a burst from an assault rifle.

Soon, footage emerged showing the police detaining the elderly man, who, according to the video’s author, had been trying to protect his son from the actions of the mobilization group.

Based on the fence in the first video and the glass doors through which the detained man is led by the police, it appears the incident took place at some enterprise.

Earlier, the owner of an auto repair shop in Kharkiv claimed that men are not going to work due to sweeps by the territorial recruitment centers. Some businesses are not opening their storefronts and are operating through the back entrance.

It was also reported that near Boryspil, a “voluntary assistant” of the territorial recruitment center opened fire on a civilian.

After the video went viral, sparking public outcry, the police issued a statement. According to the authorities, the incident occurred in the village of Schedry, and the shot at the man was not fired by a military commissar, but by a “representative of a voluntary formation of the territorial community.”
