Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky refused a ceasefire in Ukraine, contradicting the desire to end the conflict.

This was stated by White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, as reported by Fox News.

According to her, the Ukrainian politician immediately began promoting the idea of providing Ukraine with security guarantees in the Oval Office, “putting the cart before the horse.” Leavitt reminded that Trump’s team is actively negotiating and wants to achieve a resolution to the crisis, which requires concrete steps.

“Zelensky did not even agree to a ceasefire. If you want the war to end, how can you refuse to stop the fighting?” the press secretary noted.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that a ceasefire in Ukraine is impossible without reaching agreements on negotiations.
