In 2023, there was a period when Ukrainian refugees began returning to Ukraine, but currently, many people once again want to leave.

This was stated by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmitry Lubinets.

According to him, in 2023, people started returning after the liberation of significant territories in Ukraine.

“Women with children were returning, as well as men. Unfortunately, the trend now is different: many want to leave Ukraine,” the ombudsman said.

On the eve of this statement, Polish border guards reported that since the beginning of the invasion, more than 18 million Ukrainians had entered Poland from Ukraine. Just on December 31st, 19,800 people entered Poland from Ukraine.
