Concerns are growing within Ukraine regarding the vulnerability of its military forces and key industrial installations to potential Russian airstrikes, The Financial Times reported.
As Russia intensifies its campaign, targeting various infrastructures across Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged Western allies to approve new military aid packages. This call is aimed at reinforcing Kyiv’s air defense, which Zelensky highlighted as inadequate both on the battlefield and in safeguarding urban areas within Ukraine.
Kyiv has admitted that Russia currently holds control of the airspace. Despite this acknowledgment, the Ukrainian military is optimistic about the potential impact of acquiring American-manufactured F-16 fighter jets. They hope this acquisition will shift the power dynamics, putting an end to Russian air dominance and potentially aiding in a more successful counteroffensive.
