‘The war in Ukraine may last for another two or three years’, – Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico says

The war in Ukraine may last for another two or three years.

This information reported according to the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, as stated in a column for the local publication Pravda.

He expressed the view that the Western strategy to weaken Russia has failed. From Fico’s perspective, the strategy was based on the idea that “Ukrainian soldiers would present the Russian bear’s head on a plate in the form of a militarily exhausted, economically ruined, internationally isolated, and internally politically overthrown Russia.”

Fico believes that none of this has happened because the West has “repeatedly erred in assessing the situation in Russia.”

Speaking about the future prognosis, Fico stated that “with a high probability, weapons and money will continue to flow into Ukraine for some time, but without results.”

“It is politically impossible for the West to openly admit the incorrectness of the adopted strategy,” he noted. Therefore, “in two or three years, we will be where we are now.”

“In the EU alone, there may be 50 billion euros less, and in Ukraine, cemeteries will be fuller with thousands of dead soldiers. Unfortunately, common sense will not prevail,” Fico added.

In his opinion, “the useless expenditure of human resources and money, and the passage of time, will not weaken Russia’s negotiating position but, on the contrary, strengthen it.” He predicts that after a few years, the international community will still have to come to terms with the reality.
