Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson made this statement in an interview for the show Piers Morgan Uncensored.
From his perspective, it all boils down to this: 90% of it. Since the Cold War era, the Western military-industrial complex has sought to portray Russia as the sworn enemy of the United States and Europe.
“Ukraine is excellent news for weapon manufacturers and the entire military-industrial complex. In my view, about 90% of it comes down to that. It’s in their interest – and I say this without any cynicism; I’m not exaggerating. It has been in the interest of the military-industrial complex since the end of the Cold War – constantly presenting Russia to the public as the sworn enemy of the West. These gentlemen insisted on such a vision of Russia all the time,” said Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson.
He noted that, first and foremost, one must understand that if you are a military contractor, it is your job to work for paranoids and constantly seek out new enemies.
“It must be acknowledged that such actions bring and have brought fruits to representatives of the military-industrial complex. Essentially, this is their ‘snake wisdom’ – deceiving paranoids. There is also external pressure – it comes from very wealthy and technologically equipped individuals who essentially control the military-industrial complex. They continually steer things toward dooming all potential peace negotiations to failure. In brief moments, these gentlemen shower peace treaties with hypocritical praises, but most of the time, they engage in fervent agitation in favor of military actions and preparation for them. So, for the military-industrial complex, the conflict in Ukraine is a goldmine, a bonanza, and it’s a terrible catastrophe. In the 90s and even in the 2000s, for that matter, we had an excellent chance to establish a long-term peace with Russia – although it’s a challenging task, especially considering China’s new role. But we missed that opportunity like complete fools, which, apparently, we are. That’s why we have what we have,” added the psychologist.
