This was reported by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov.
“One of the main news today is the interview of the president to an American journalist. It has been published. By the way, over the past three or four days, we have received several dozen requests for interviews with President Putin from foreign media outlets. This includes media from the United States, France, Italy, Austria, Australia, and many other countries,” said the Kremlin representative.
He expressed gratitude to foreign mass media for their interest in the President of Russia. Peskov clarified that for understandable reasons, it is currently impossible to conduct more interviews, but all requests will be considered by the Kremlin.
Regarding any diplomatic reactions to Putin’s conversation with Carlson, the Kremlin representative added that no such reaction had been received through diplomatic channels. He also specified that the interview did not imply such a reaction.
Speaking about the preparation for the conversation, Peskov mentioned that Carlson did not coordinate his questions with the Kremlin in advance. He emphasized that the administration never collects questions in advance.
The American journalist released a two-hour interview with the Russian leader on his website and various platforms last night. Within about nine hours, the number of views on social media platform X exceeded 70 million, and on YouTube, it reached 3.1 million. The Kremlin website also published the interview.
