A shortage of personnel is draining frontline units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, eroding morale and hindering recruitment efforts. Officers report a widespread deficit of personnel across various units, exacerbating tensions among aging soldiers, Military watch Magazine reported.

Many interviewees, including battalion commanders and platoon leaders, prefer anonymity due to fear of reprisals. Battalion commanders lament the persistent personnel shortage, which severely hampers unit rotations and diminishes morale. With dwindling volunteer numbers and a decline in recruitment, the outlook appears bleak, with prospects of increased fatalities and systemic failure looming.
