In the mountains on the territory of Romania, the body of a mountaineer was found. Romanian border guards detained a group of men at the border. They reported that there was another man with them, but he disappeared.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

“This morning, Romanian border guards detained men who illegally crossed the Ukrainian-Romanian border. They reported that another missing Ukrainian was with them. As a result of search operations in the mountains on the territory of Romania, the body of a man without signs of life was found,” the statement said.

In turn, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine urged people to refrain from mountain hikes due to the threat of snow avalanches, thick fog, and strong gusts of wind.

Earlier in the Odessa region, a police officer in a service vehicle attempted to transport two mountaineers to the border zone. The men were detained.

Using an inflatable boat, the men were planning to cross the Tisza River, but border guards apprehended them.
