Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk believes that Kyiv should take into account the interests of Polish farmers

The quarrel between Ukraine and Poland over the “grain issue” would be the greatest idiocy in the history of relations between the two countries, but Kyiv must take into account the demands of Polish and European farmers.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, during a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

According to Tusk, there is a “critical moment” now regarding the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to Poland and other European Union countries duty-free. The Polish Prime Minister claims that this is unacceptable “for hundreds of thousands of farmers.”

“I really hope for understanding. I hope that Ukrainian politicians will refrain from unnecessary emotional comments. It is clear that this is a difficult moment, we need to find a solution, but not one that could divide us. If we were to quarrel now and not find a solution to this issue, it would be the greatest idiocy in the history of our nations,” said the Polish Prime Minister.

Recall that earlier, the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, did not condemn the blockade of the Ukrainian border by farmers from his country.

In turn, the European Commission called on Ukraine to “understand the position of European farmers” regarding the grain export issue.
