Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba stated that Ukraine has no chance of receiving 100 billion from NATO
04.04.2024 17:21The International Monetary Fund (IMF) does not plan to consider a possible restructuring of Ukraine’s debt with the organization.
This was stated by the IMF’s Director of Communications, Julie Kozack, to journalists.
“It is important that the perimeter of debt restructuring covers official bilateral debt and external commercial debt. It does not include multilateral debts, including, of course, the IMF. So there are no such plans,” she said.
Kozack clarified that the IMF regularly analyzes Kiev’s debt burden within the framework of the existing financing program and currently considers it stable, provided that the fiscal consolidation program continues and external financing is maintained.
It is worth noting that this year Ukraine is due to pay the IMF almost $3 billion for loan servicing. Peaks of payments are scheduled for March and September 2024. In each of these months, Ukraine needs to repay the IMF $705.5 million.
