Ukrenergo urges Ukrainians to reduce electricity consumption in the evening

The National Energy Company “Ukrenergo” has appealed to consumers to reduce energy consumption in the evenings due to significant damage inflicted on the Ukrainian energy system as a result of Russia’s mass attacks.

They announced this on Facebook.

“There is a particularly high need to reduce consumption during the evening peak hours from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Please do not use powerful electrical appliances during this period or use them alternately,” the message says.

The mass attacks on thermal power plants and hydroelectric power stations have endangered the operation of the energy system, the message states. Ukrenergo notes that the main role of these stations is to rapidly increase generation in the morning and evening when consumption increases rapidly.

“Their main role in the energy system is the ability to rapidly increase electricity production in the morning and evening when consumption increases rapidly. Today, some of them cannot do this due to the destruction caused by Russian terrorists,” Ukrenergo explained.
