In Zacarpathia, a 64-year-old woman has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for posts on “Odnoklassniki” (a social media platform).

Local media report this citing the court’s decision.

During the trial, the prosecution stated that the pensioner justified the actions of Russian troops in Ukraine online, denied Russia’s military crimes, spread misinformation about the course of the war, and called for support for the aggressor.

The woman did not admit her guilt, stating that her statements were taken out of context.

The court sided with the prosecution.

Media note that this is the first case in the history of Ukraine when a person has been sentenced to imprisonment for such a long term for publications on social networks.
