May 22, 2024MP from the “Sluga Naroda” party and Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense and National Security, Maryana Bezuhla, has begun publicly criticizing Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and his entourage, similar to how she criticized Valerii Zaluzhnyi a few months before his dismissal.
A post expressing her indignation regarding Syrskyi appeared on her Facebook.
According to the deputy, Syrskyi has not responded to her appeals for several months and has been ignoring “critical issues,” prompting her to go public.
“Meet them, more to come. From left to right: Bargilevych, Pavlyuk, Syrskyi, Sodol. The general’s faction that is currently destroying our chances for change and victory. Of course, this isn’t everyone. The pomp of the Soviet era and the devaluation of human life,” Bezuhla wrote.

She listed her grievances against each of the military leaders:
- Oleksandr Syrskyi: The deputy accused him of “hiding the truth, dividing units, manual control, Russian brutality, and eliminating all competitors and creatives in the army.” In her view, the “rotation of brigade and battalion commanders” happens so quickly “that they don’t have time to get acquainted with the unit before being blamed.” She also mentioned the “destruction of paratroopers” happening “right now, to turn them into ground forces, and much more.”
- Chief of the General Staff Anatoliy Bargilevych: She called him a “minion of Syrskyi,” accusing him of doubling bureaucracy, closing IT units, promoting old deals, and “destroying the Territorial Defense Forces (TRO).”
- Commander of the Ground Forces Oleksandr Pavlyuk: She accused him of “pretending to be busy” and “practically not preparing people before sending them to brigades,” and attempting to create as many new brigades as possible to establish more headquarters.
- Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Sodol: She called him a “backroom butcher who will cover up anything for any superior,” accusing him of “ill-preparedness in Kharkiv and Avdiivka.”
Bezuhla stated that she intends to ensure that “all these factions leave and never make key decisions again.”
“The year 2014 did not lead to a restructuring of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the year 2022 did not lead to a restructuring of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, if 2024 does not lead to it – we are doomed,” the deputy concluded.
