23.05.2024 - 23:35A man can be detained by the police for not having documents, and if he attempts to flee, force will be used.
This statement was made by the head of the National Police of Ukraine, Ivan Vyhovsky.
According to him, if a man stopped on the street is wanted by the territorial recruitment center, the police will take him to the military enlistment office.
Additionally, if a man has neither military registration documents nor an identity card, he will be detained to establish his identity.
If a man does not have military registration documents but does have an identity card and is not wanted by the territorial recruitment center, his information may be passed on to the military enlistment office.
Furthermore, if a man tries to run away from the police, they can use force and special tools: handcuffs, rubber, and plastic batons.
Previously, territorial recruitment centers provided detailed information on which military registration documents men should carry when going out. It was also reported that until July 16, conscripted Ukrainian men cannot be forcibly taken to territorial recruitment centers against their will. According to the Helsinki Union, currently, a person can only be issued a summons for personal data verification.
