In Zakarpattia, a mobilized man who was deemed fit for service died at the territorial recruitment center
24.05.2024 - 08:45Service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine are experiencing a surge in activity, seemingly due to the new mobilization law.
According to the website of the main service center, appointments are fully booked for the next ten working days. In Kyiv and its surrounding region, there are no available dates at all (booking for a longer period is not technically possible).
Looking across Ukraine, even in June, most service centers are marked with gray circles, indicating that there are no available slots for appointments. There are significantly fewer “green” service centers with available slots.
This is likely due to many men rushing to re-register their vehicles in the names of women, fearing that they may lose the right to drive due to issues with the territorial recruitment centers.
The new law on strengthening mobilization introduces a document requirement from the territorial recruitment centers. Based on this, the military enlistment office can seek a court order to revoke a person’s driving privileges.
Previously, the media published data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, showing that in three weeks in April, the number of vehicle re-registrations in Ukraine increased by 42%, reaching 154,178 operations.
