Mobilized prisoners will join the Armed Forces of Ukraine in two months – Reuters
31.05.2024 20:29On May 28, all regional police chiefs in Kyiv were gathered to receive instructions regarding the mobilization of police officers.
This information reported according to reports from Telegram channels.
Following this, on the morning of May 29, Alexander Hanja, the chief of police for the Dnipropetrovsk region, convened all city and district police chiefs in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He instructed them to allocate 10% of the personnel from all police departments to an assault battalion, targeting men aged 25 to 60.
All candidates are required to submit a report resigning from their current positions in their district offices and transferring to new roles in the special purpose battalion as assault troops, snipers, or mortar operators.
The actual situation is being concealed from the regular police officers, who are being misled with stories that they will simply perform patrolling duties and man checkpoints. However, this is not true.
Police officers who were forcibly (though officially voluntarily) sent on assignments to the Zhytomyr region were deceived in a similar manner. On their first day, they were already being trained to storm trenches.
Additionally, it is reported on Telegram channels that there are plans to draft 20% to 50% of the male personnel in the near future.
