A resident of the Odesa region offered money to the Security Service of Ukraine to get rid of an African man who was interfering with his relationship with his beloved

A resident of the Odessa region attempted to bribe counterintelligence officers from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to remove a competitor in a love triangle.

This information was reported by the regional police press center.

According to the department, a 51-year-old man from Izmail offered $3,000 to two SBU officers to deport a 29-year-old citizen from an African country who was living in Odessa. Law enforcement officials stated that this African man was vying for the affection of a woman whom the local resident also had feelings for, making him a rival in a love triangle.

“The perpetrator demanded proof of the foreigner’s deportation, including photos at the border checkpoint and documents confirming a three-year ban on re-entering Ukraine,” the police added.

The man was detained after handing over the money. He now faces a prison sentence of four to eight years.
