20.06.2024 20:50In the Volyn region, employees of a territorial recruitment center were arrested for demanding bribes from critical infrastructure workers to extend their exemption from mobilization.
This information was reported by sources in law enforcement.
“Chief and leading specialists of the Volodymyr-Volynskyi Territorial Recruitment Center were caught demanding $600 from three critical infrastructure employees to extend their deferral from mobilization for another six months,” the source stated.
The suspects have been detained, and a criminal case has been opened.
Previously, a member of parliament revealed that workers from the defense industry with a legal right to deferral are often mobilized immediately after updating their information at recruitment centers.
“The problem is that defense industry workers go to update their data at the territorial recruitment centers and are immediately mobilized. But they have a legal right to deferral. We are currently preparing a draft law to exclude the mobilization of such individuals when updating their data,” stated officials in the Verkhovna Rada.
Additionally, it was reported how deferral schemes for workers operate and their costs.
Formally, enterprises recognized as strategic have the right to defer up to 50% of their employees, and in some cases more. However, in practice, even these enterprises often struggle to obtain deferrals for their workers.
