20.06.2024 08:04The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine may introduce paid informant incentives for reporting deserters and other military personnel.
This was reported by Maksym Pavlyuk, Deputy Chairman of the Law Enforcement Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, commenting on the draft law on military police.
“We all understand that within the framework of criminal proceedings or operational and investigative activities, certain individuals can be involved and somehow incentivized,” said Pavlyuk.
He clarified that if adopted, the law would exclusively apply to military personnel.
Pavlyuk also commented on the potential provision that would allow the military police to enter citizens’ homes.
“The Constitution provides for the inviolability of housing, but in exceptional cases, law enforcement agencies have the right to violate this,” he said, adding that this provision remains a matter of debate.
