Some students in Ukraine over the age of 25 lose their right to deferment starting July 1
27.06.2024 - 11:19Former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, Oleksiy Arestovych, stated in an interview with Vasyl Holovanov that combat units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are increasingly refusing to follow orders from their commanders.
“If you keep sending more and more people into the fray, I can give you an example. We have a breakthrough near Toretsk. Do you think it’s from a good life? There will be more in the near future. On one of the key sections, six neighboring battalions refused to carry out a combat mission two days ago. Do you think this is the only case? Do you think this won’t happen again? Do you think this won’t escalate? That’s not true, despite all the Western help. The root cause is the wrong attitude towards people, and people respond with disloyalty,” said Arestovych.
Previously, former MP and serviceman Ihor Lutsenko stated that a conflict is beginning within the Armed Forces of Ukraine between two generations of commanders. According to him, this is a conflict between the “army culture that came through Russia” and the commanders of the new generation who emerged in 2014 and 2022.
