The trainer from Odesa, who was beaten for insulting the military, was mobilized into an assault brigade
12.07.2024 22:37Telegram channels have published videos of two conflicts outside the territorial recruitment center in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Odesa region.
In the first episode, two women and a man in a wheelchair are demanding the release of a man from the recruitment center. One woman claims that the detained man is her son and that he has schizophrenia. The man says he has a court hearing soon, and the police had called the recruitment center.
The woman tries to keep her foot in the door and enter the building. When she manages to get inside, she is pushed out, and she clings to a man, causing both of them to fall to the ground. At this moment, another man tries to escape from the recruitment center but is grabbed. The police arrive at the scene.
The second video shows a man in military uniform yelling profanities and struggling with other recruitment officers. The officers explain to onlookers that he is concussed but is not being discharged because he is deemed fit by the military medical commission.
“He’s concussed, so let him be discharged,” shout women gathered outside the recruitment center.
It is unclear whether the two episodes are related.
The Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment Center described the actions of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi recruitment center staff member, who pushed the woman and the man in a wheelchair to the ground, as “expressive behavior” and explained it by stating that frontline veterans serve at the recruitment center.
This message was posted on the organization’s Facebook page. Later, in a comment, the regional recruitment center noted that the footage of the man in military uniform pushing the woman and the disabled person to the ground provokes “justified outrage,” but urged civilians to “maintain critical thinking” when assessing the actions of the recruitment officer.

According to the recruitment center’s comment, the relatives of the man, who was brought to the recruitment center by the police for failing to respond to a summons, were allegedly to blame. They first demanded entry to the premises to speak with the head and then demanded the release of their relative.
“During this time, the civilians continuously provoked the guard unit soldiers into unlawful actions against them, insulting them,” claims the recruitment center.
“Regarding the expressive behavior of the guard unit soldier from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi recruitment center, captured on camera, we inform you that currently, the majority of the recruitment center’s personnel are soldiers transferred from combat units due to health conditions resulting from severe injuries. They are often in the process of rehabilitation and adaptation to service in rear units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the message concluded.
