13.07.2024 15:53Footage of a lavish Ukrainian wedding at Lake Como in Italy has surfaced on social media. The performers included Russian showman Maksim Galkin and Ukrainian singer Dmytro Monatik.
According to the videos, Galkin sang in Ukrainian, performing songs like “Smereka,” “Zoloto Karpat,” and “Odna Kalyna.”
Reports indicate that the wedding of the couple from Kyiv took place on July 10 at Villa Balbiano, which is rented out by Russian businessmen for 19,000 euros per day.
Monatik’s press service confirmed to Ukrainian journalists that the singer performed at this wedding.
According to Instagram stories, the bride is Angelina Terska from Kyiv, who works in the tourism business (shown in the last photo). The identity of the groom is unknown.
The opulent wedding in Italy, which media outlets estimate to have cost 1 million euros, sparked a strong reaction on social media. In particular, Angelina Terska faced a wave of criticism on Instagram.

Many commentators felt that such a celebration was inappropriate during these difficult times:
“Everything would be fine if the wedding were celebrated more modestly. I still believe that in such difficult times for your homeland, it would be appropriate to show solidarity by standing with your people.”

“Was it your wedding? With such Ukrainians, we don’t need Putin.”
However, there were also comments supporting her:
“A beautiful girl, a beautiful page, wealthy people who can afford a beautiful wedding. They donate. The husband is a businessman. Why are you picking on them, you holier-than-thou folks???? Are you all helping? Or are your people all serving? Disgusting people.”
“Magnificent wedding. I am very happy for you. Beautiful location, charming bride, luxurious guests! It’s pleasant to watch, it warms the heart. My sincere congratulations to you, wishing you a happy family life.”

“First of all, happiness to the newlyweds! Regarding the cost of the wedding, the question should be about the origin of the money, not how it’s spent. If everything is not above board, then that’s a problem for the tax authorities. And envy is a feeling that pricks many, especially social voyeurs.”
“Should people not have weddings now? If they have the means to celebrate this way, that’s wonderful!”
“I am a soldier in the Ukrainian defense forces from the first days of the war. I know Angelina personally, since school. She is a wonderful person who has helped me fundraise many times. If you come here to judge someone you absolutely DO NOT know, then it’s better to see a psychologist so that the people around you do not suffer. Three years of war, and instead of creating a reliable home front for us soldiers by setting a good example, you spread betrayal. Shame on you!”
In response to the criticism, Terska made a statement:
“We are not stars, not government officials, not even their children, not bloggers with a million followers, we don’t currently live in Ukraine, we celebrated our wedding outside of Ukraine, we support Ukraine (if it’s not clear, then look at the saved stories – I did this for you), we condemn the war, hate Russia, donate, believe in Ukraine, and plan to return. So, what questions do you have for us?)” she wrote.
