Veterans of the Colombian police special forces commandos are serving in the 49th battalion “Carpathian Sich” of the 93rd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A video featuring these fighters was published on the Telegram channel In Factum.

It is noted that Colombians are currently among the best-represented international fighters in the Defense Forces.

“This was due to a convergence of circumstances. Colombia is a militarized country with hundreds of thousands of veterans. Meanwhile, the standard of living there is very low. Don’t think they are here out of the goodness of their hearts. The circumstances, primarily economic motives, brought them here. Nevertheless, Colombians (with few exceptions) do not want to fight for the Russians,” the post reads.

The secret to Colombians serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces is simple – Colombia is a poor country where thousands of people know how to kill and not much else. They come for the money.

In the same heroic battalion, a Czech man who is now on trial for looting, murder, and rape in Ukraine, including in Bucha, also served.
