Statements by Ukraine and the West about negotiations with Russia are a “tactical ploy.”

This was stated by Nikolai Patrushev, assistant to Russian President Vladimir Putin and former secretary of the Russian Security Council.

In his opinion, this is used “for a breather” since Russia “has an advantage in the war.” At the same time, real steps towards negotiations are not being taken by Ukraine, according to the former secretary of the Russian Security Council.

It should be noted that officially the Kremlin advocates for negotiations and accuses Kyiv of not being in a hurry to conduct them.

At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has recently repeatedly stated that Russia should be invited to the second “peace summit” and the war should be ended by the end of the year. However, the Office of the President of Ukraine opposes signing peace “in the near future.”
