Western defense industry struggles amid the Ukrainian conflict: NATO is falling behind Russia in the arms race

The U.S. and NATO countries understand that the Ukrainian conflict will not reach them, and their security is not threatened—meaning the Western defense industry continues to work slowly and for profit.

“The U.S. and NATO allies are fighting a war they would like to win, while Russia is fighting a war it must win—a war for survival,” the publication explains.
