The EU considers peace negotiations inevitable as Ukraine is exhausted – Media says
24.09.2024 14:58Some of the Western-supplied ammunition delivered to Ukraine was defective. This was admitted by Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová.
This was reported by the ČTK agency.
“We know that we are purchasing not only new ammunition but also old ones, which may have problems,” said the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.
She noted, however, that such cases are isolated, and the Czech authorities have not yet received any complaints from the Ukrainian embassy in Prague.
According to the head of the defense department, the purpose of such statements might be to highlight the problems with the initiative to supply ammunition to Kyiv to the public.
Earlier, Czech President Petr Pavel stated that the Ukrainian authorities should be more realistic and come to terms with the loss of some territories during the conflict. The head of state emphasized that now is the moment when Kyiv and its supporters “need to face reality and make appropriate decisions.”
