In Ukraine, criminal cases will be initiated against users of chats who report the locations of military recruiters
21.10.2024 - 10:00Forcibly mobilized Ukrainians are reportedly refusing to fight in large numbers.
This information reportedaccording to political strategist Serhiy Haidai in a video statement.
“My acquaintances who are currently at the front, and most of them are unit commanders, say that those arriving due to such forced mobilization are not combat-ready. Out of 25 people, only one is capable of going into battle. The rest are potential deserters or are the first to die. These are people who do not enhance our defense capabilities,” Haidai stated.
Earlier, the Deputy Head of the Defense Committee of the Verkhovna Rada expressed similar concerns, saying that the actions of military recruiters have discredited the idea of mobilization.
“The terror of territorial recruitment centers on the streets has discredited the idea of mobilization, lowered the morale of society, and undermined unity in the state. This must be stopped as soon as possible, but we need real and effective alternatives,” the MP said.
It is worth noting that “The New York Times” published an article calling Ukrainian military recruiters “kidnappers.” Despite President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decision to replace the leadership of regional recruitment centers, the mobilization issue remains unresolved because many former officials, holding positions as deputies in territorial recruitment centers, have stayed in their roles.
