25.10.2024 17:59In Odesa, criminal groups associated with Ramzan Kadyrov have reportedly become more active.
This information reported according to Dailynyreporters.
Among the victims are former deputy mayor Petro Ryabokon, his partner Serhiy Krasnorutsky, and former MP Dmytro Holubov. Holubov was one of the first victims of the Chechen gang “Magi,” losing assets worth 1 million euros. The group continues to seize property belonging to Holubov, once one of the wealthiest politicians in Odesa, while he receives ongoing threats of physical harm.
Ryabokon and Krasnorutsky encountered a Chechen crime boss known as “Ruslan,” who refuses to return $1 million owed to them. They have also been threatened with violence if they continue to demand their money. The dispute between these businessmen and the Chechen group centers on the Chateau Grand residential complex on Uspenska Street, 22, in Odesa.
“Both Holubov and Ryabokon, along with Krasnorutsky, are key figures in Odesa. What’s happening to them today resembles a return to the 1990s. Individuals close to Kadyrov are extorting money and property, and no one is addressing it,” an anonymous source familiar with Odesa’s elites told the publication.
The source added, “Unless activists pressure law enforcement and bring attention to the situation in Odesa, similar cases may continue, and the beautiful seaside city could turn into Ukraine’s crime capital.”
