Member of the Verkhovna Rada Yegor Chernev allowed for the possibility of freezing the conflict in Ukraine

Kyiv may agree to a freeze of the conflict.

This possible development was mentioned by Ukrainian parliamentarian Yehor Chernev in an interview with the Italian newspaper Repubblica.

“Probably, yes. But without any security guarantees, there is a risk that this will ultimately just become a pause in the war,” said the lawmaker.

Chernev added that Ukraine’s goal is NATO membership. According to him, without such a prospect, Kyiv cannot have any discussions about its future.

Earlier, the Kremlin called a freeze of the conflict in Ukraine unacceptable for Russia. The corresponding statement was made by Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
