Zelensky told Trump that he “doesn’t want to rush” to end the war
18.12.2024 - 10:07U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Devin Nunes as the head of the Intelligence Advisory Board. Nunes had criticized “Ukrainian saboteurs” in 2019.
Nunes, a Republican and former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California, currently serves as the CEO of Trump’s company, Trump Media & Technology Group, and oversees the social network Truth Social.
In 2019, Nunes accused Ukraine of orchestrating an attempt to impeach then-President Trump. Five years ago, he stated on Fox News, “I’ve written down in my notebook all the grifters and saboteurs from Ukraine who, along with the Democrats and Soros, tried to smear Trump and provoke impeachment.” He also accused Ukraine of targeting Paul Manafort.
As a congressman, Nunes chaired the House Intelligence Committee. While in this role, in 2018, he published a controversial memo claiming that the FBI had conspired against Trump while investigating Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
It was previously reported that Trump wants to appoint Kash Patel as the head of the FBI. Patel has called for sweeping purges of the government to remove “deep state” operatives.
