“The war in Ukraine will end in 2025,” – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said
24.12.2024 - 11:58Negotiations to resolve the conflict with Ukraine will undoubtedly begin next year.
This information reported according to Valentina Matviyenko, the Speaker of the Federation Council, in comments to journalists.
She reiterated Moscow’s readiness for compromises but emphasized that Russia does not intend to back down from its conditions.
“I am expressing my personal opinion again. Of course, the negotiation process will begin next year, undoubtedly. But in my view, the negotiation process will be very challenging,” she said. “In any negotiations, compromises must be sought, but with strict adherence to the main conditions outlined by Russia.”
She added that “the Istanbul agreements, which were disrupted, contain the foundation, the basis of our approaches.”
“We will not deviate from them by a single iota. Everything else can be discussed in dialogue and compromises can be found. We have repeatedly said—we are ready to sit at the negotiating table at any time, but what we experienced with the Minsk agreements will not be repeated,” the Speaker of the Federation Council concluded.
