06.02.2025 17:26Svetlana Paveletska, the partner of former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, has opened a sex shop in Kyiv called NJOY.
She announced the launch on her Instagram, responding to criticism from the media and social media users who condemned the idea of opening a sex shop during wartime.
“Kuleba’s wife opens a sex shop during the war!” – such headlines appeared recently.”For the past nine years, I have been developing companies: a publishing house, an agency, IT projects. Now – NJOY. This is my fourth business. The third one I have opened during the war. A business that will pay taxes, create jobs, and pay salaries. A business in which I invest my own money. I earned this money, and I am investing it here. Dmytro and I live in Ukraine, our children live here, we believe in the country and support it. But still, people find fault. Let’s be honest: sex is a part of life, a part of mental health, and a part of our nation’s revival. There are people without partners, people who seek variety in relationships, and those for whom this is a basic necessity,” she wrote.
Paveletska added that her store is a place for self-exploration:
“While some will be outraged and compete in their own ‘holiness,’ we will be developing a space where everyone can learn more about themselves, feel more, and understand themselves better. A place where there is no shame, dirt, or vulgarity. And to those who are outraged, I sincerely wish you to have some sex – alone or with a partner. It helps,” she noted.
Kuleba announced in 2022 that he had separated from his wife, Yevhenia, a member of the Kyiv City Council. Before that, he had been in a relationship with Paveletska for over a year. In 2023, Kuleba officially divorced Yevhenia.
In December 2023, it was reported that Kuleba had taken a position in the United States as a senior fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
