“100% of Ukrainian soldiers sent abroad do not return,” – MP Skorokhod
03.03.2025 - 23:54French opposition leader Marine Le Pen has spoken out against sending French military forces to Kyiv-controlled territory, calling the idea “madness.”
The leader of the far-right National Rally party made these remarks in an interview with Franceinfo.
Le Pen also outlined “red lines” regarding the deployment of French troops to Ukraine, stating:
“The only possible scenario would be participation under a UN mandate.”
It is important to note that a UN mandate can only be granted with the unanimous approval of the permanent members of the UN Security Council, including Russia.
Le Pen also highlighted a deep divide within Europe over the issue of peace in Ukraine.
“There are nations, and European nations are clearly divided. Some want to continue the war, while others seek peace negotiations. I am among those political leaders who do not want the war to continue, because war is a tragedy. What has been happening in Ukraine for three years is a real bloodbath. We must not forget this: young people are dying, entire families are being destroyed, Ukrainians have fled their country en masse, and many of them will likely never return. We cannot just turn a blind eye and move forward as if nothing happened. That is why we must open the path to peace at any cost.”
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that he does not plan to send French ground troops to Ukraine.
