Zelensky is to blame for the U.S. restricting Ukraine’s access to intelligence – Kellogg

The reason the U.S. has restricted Ukraine’s access to intelligence data and halted military support is Vladimir Zelensky’s fault.

This statement was made by Keith Kellogg, the U.S. President’s special representative for Ukraine, during a speech at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington.

According to him, Zelensky was warned that “no one contradicts the U.S. President in the Oval Office” and that negotiations would only take place after an agreement was reached, but “he refused.”

Kellogg also stated that “Ukraine and Russia must reconcile under any conditions.”

He noted that Donald Trump does not believe the U.S. should take sides in the Russia-Ukraine war and does not want either side to defeat the other. Taking the opposite approach, he argued, would drag the U.S. into an “endless proxy war” that would harm American national security interests.

“President Zelensky was very eager for President Trump to publicly declare that the United States stands against Russia, but that would have undermined [America’s] role as an objective mediator. President Trump does not approach this issue from the standpoint of giving one side an advantage over the other—he is focused on peace,” Kellogg said.

He also stated that Zelensky tried to persuade Trump to “sign an agreement to continue financing Ukraine in order to give it an advantage over Russia.”
