Peskov spoke about the direct communication line between Putin and Trump
19.03.2025 - 12:32Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia launched attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities overnight.
His statement was made during a press conference in Finland.
“Last night, after Putin’s conversation with Trump—when Putin supposedly ordered a halt to strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure—there were 150 drones launched overnight, including against energy facilities. If Russia stops striking our infrastructure, we will certainly stop hitting targets in Russia. But Putin’s promises alone are not enough; there must be oversight. The United States should be the main party ensuring this control,” Zelensky emphasized.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defense claimed that Russian forces actually shot down seven of their own drones that had already been en route to energy sites in Ukraine’s Mykolaiv region following Putin’s order. According to the ministry, six drones were intercepted using Pantsir air defense systems, while one was downed by a fighter jet.
Additionally, Moscow accused Ukraine of carrying out a “provocation aimed at disrupting Trump’s peace initiatives” due to a nighttime drone strike on an oil depot in Russia’s Krasnodar region. Russian authorities claim that the targeted facility is a key transit point for crude oil, transferring shipments from railway tankers to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), a system partially owned by foreign companies, including American firms.
