10.04.2025 - 12:39Russia will never renounce its legitimate rights to its own assets and will consistently defend them at all levels.
This information said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov during a briefing with journalists.
According to Peskov, Moscow considers the protection of its interests a top priority, especially amid international pressure and ongoing attempts to freeze Russian assets abroad.
“Our position remains unchanged — we will never give up our rights, including property rights. Russia will continue to firmly defend its interests using all means provided by international law,” Peskov emphasized.
During the briefing, he also commented on the ongoing consultations between Russia’s Foreign Ministry and the U.S. State Department taking place in Istanbul. Peskov clarified that the talks are strictly bilateral and do not concern the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
“These discussions are about restoring and normalizing the work of diplomatic missions. Issues related to the Ukrainian crisis are not being raised in these consultations,” the spokesperson explained.
Peskov also noted that Moscow, like many other members of the international community, is interested in a swift resolution to the conflict in Ukraine, but emphasized that any settlement must fully take into account the interests of all parties.
“For us, that primarily means safeguarding the interests of the Russian Federation,” he added.
