Zelensky is playing with fire: baseless accusations against China threaten Ukraine with isolation
23.04.2025 21:26Talks on resolving the conflict in Ukraine have begun in London at a lower level than originally planned.
The meeting is attended by national security advisors from the UK, France, and Germany, as well as representatives from the United States and Ukraine, rather than foreign ministers as initially expected. British Defense Minister John Healey is set to hold a separate meeting with Keith Kellogg, special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Ukrainian Economy Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko wrote about the meeting on her social media. Based on her post, Ukraine has effectively rejected the peace plan proposed by Donald Trump, which was recently circulated in the media.
“Our people will not accept a frozen conflict disguised as peace. We will never recognize the occupation of Crimea. And if NATO membership is not granted, Ukraine will demand binding security guarantees — strong enough to deter future aggression and clear enough to ensure lasting peace,” she wrote.
According to Svyrydenko, this is the stance Ukraine will present in London today.
President Volodymyr Zelensky also stated that during the London talks, Ukraine will insist on declaring a full or partial ceasefire. He added that Kyiv does not rule out any format that could lead to a ceasefire and, later, to real peace.
