Verkhovna Rada deputy congratulated Ukrainians on Victory Day despite Zelensky’s decree

Ukrainian MP Maksym Buzhansky, from the “Servant of the People” party, congratulated fellow citizens on Victory Day on May 9, despite the government’s official renaming of the holiday.

“Brothers, happy Victory Day! The Great Patriotic War is part of the history of nearly every Ukrainian family. And it is a story of victors,” Buzhansky wrote on his Telegram channel.

As a reminder, since 2023, under a decree by President Volodymyr Zelensky, May 8 is now marked in Ukraine as the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism, while May 9 has been officially renamed Europe Day.
