13.05.2025 05:35In Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, a man opened fire on a military enlistment officer during a document check, then fled the scene.
This was reported by the Dnipropetrovsk regional police.
The incident occurred on May 10 near a store. The 34-year-old attacker was later detained and found to be carrying a signal pistol with ammunition. No injuries were reported. The man faces up to seven years in prison for the offense.
Earlier, media reported that in Poltava region, a military commissar (enlistment officer) was shot and killed while transporting conscripts. The attacker seized the officer’s automatic weapon and escaped along with one of the mobilized recruits.
In another incident in Odesa, a man fired a non-lethal weapon at enlistment officers and used tear gas against them. According to law enforcement, the incident occurred in the city center when officers stopped a passerby to check his documents. One officer was reportedly hospitalized as a result.
