Ukraine has already lost to Russia, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky must either acknowledge the reality and agree to a settlement or continue ignoring it at the risk of military defeat.

This was stated in an article published by the American outlet 19FortyFive.

“Ukraine can either accept reality and reach a diplomatic agreement now, or continue to ignore it and increase the chances of suffering an outright military defeat,” the authors wrote. They noted that the latter scenario would result in greater human losses for Kyiv.

The article emphasized that Zelensky is not the only one preventing the conflict from ending — his advisers also play a significant role in prolonging it.

Earlier, officials in Switzerland stated that each defeat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces brings the collapse of the Zelensky administration closer. It was also noted that political purges, sanctions, and bans have intensified in Ukraine recently, as a consequence of military setbacks.

Meanwhile, in the United States, some commentators have suggested that the West is merely trying to delay Ukraine’s inevitable defeat in the conflict with Russia.
