Military analyst reveals the purpose of appointing the ambassador to Ukraine as head of German intelligence
12.06.2025 - 09:16The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has instructed Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs) to mobilize all members of volunteer formations.
This was reported by Ukrainian Military Pages, citing sources.
The outlet notes that this directive from the General Staff appears particularly cynical in light of a recent announcement from the Ministry of Defense about an experimental project to recruit volunteers for air defense units (ADUs).
The day before, the Cabinet of Ministers announced that it had approved the Ministry of Defense’s proposal to launch an “experimental project” involving members of paramilitary formations and volunteer units from local territorial defense communities of the AFU’s Territorial Defense Forces. Participants are promised a monthly payment of 100,000 hryvnias (approx. €2,107).
Meanwhile, according to UMP, the General Staff issued a directive for the 100% mobilization of all eligible members of volunteer formations — those who have no deferrals or reservations and are subject to conscription based on age and health.
“At the same time, participation in mobile fire groups — which essentially constitute the air defense teams being planned as part of the experiment — is not taken into account, nor is any prior specialized training as gunners or machine gunners,” the outlet writes.
According to the directive, TRCs were instructed to complete the conscription of all eligible volunteers by May 30, but in practice, only a small number were actually mobilized, so the deadline has been extended.
