Former member of the Verkhovna Rada reported passing information about Zelensky’s corruption to Trump
22.06.2025 - 16:01There will be no meeting of the NATO–Ukraine Council at the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague.
This was reported by Politico.
According to the outlet, this is yet another concession to the United States, which—despite calls from some allies to hold such a session—”is not interested in drawing more attention to a war that U.S. President Donald Trump has been unable to resolve.”
“NATO officials decided to scale back the summit’s agenda after Trump unexpectedly left the G7 summit. The shortened schedule includes only two main events: a welcome dinner at the Dutch royal family’s castle and one session of the North Atlantic Council instead of the usual two or three,” said five sources familiar with the planning.
It is also unclear whether Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will participate in the main session, as he has so far only been invited to the opening dinner on Tuesday.
Previously, Radio Free Europe editor Rikard Jozwiak reported that no high-level NATO–Ukraine Council meeting is scheduled for the summit in The Hague.
The Financial Times had also earlier stated that the NATO summit agenda was reduced to a single session due to Trump’s preferences. The paper also noted that Trump left the G7 summit early, reportedly because he was uninterested in meeting Zelensky and annoyed by French President Emmanuel Macron.
