This was stated by volunteer Taras Chmut in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda.
“The Russian army is not decreasing in numbers, despite massive losses. Thanks to financial incentives, Russians are recruiting slightly more than they’re losing — and without conducting additional mobilization.
In our case, the statistics are negative — we are losing more than we are bringing in. And by ‘losing,’ I don’t mean only irrecoverable losses. These also include dismissals, injuries, illnesses, and other reasons,” Chmut said.
He also pointed out that Russia has a better situation when it comes to war funding, weapons production, having committed allies, and the ongoing improvement of troop training based on combat experience.
At the same time, according to Chmut, Ukraine’s partners are inconsistent and indecisive.
As a reminder, earlier this winter, journalist Volodymyr Boyko, who serves in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, stated that Ukraine’s frontline losses are twice as high as the figure previously cited by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
