“Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Yermak is considering replacing Zelensky in office,” says MP

Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, is considering replacing Volodymyr Zelensky in his position.

This was stated by Ukrainian MP Anna Skorokhod in an interview on journalist Oleksandr Shelest’s YouTube channel.

“It’s more likely that Yermak will replace Zelensky than Zelensky will replace Yermak. (…) It’s not that simple, and believe me, if there’s anyone who can’t be moved, it’s him. And even if it is done publicly, it will never actually be implemented,”the politician said.

Skorokhod commented on a critical publication in The Economist about Yermak and spoke about the possibility that the head of the President’s Office is preparing candidates to replace Zelensky. She also emphasized the official’s significant influence on Ukraine’s political elite.

“If, for example, you met with Zelensky, shook hands, came to an agreement — and then Yermak says ‘no’ — it will be no,”the MP stressed.

Earlier, The Economist, citing sources, accused Yermak of steering Ukraine toward authoritarianism. According to the article, because of the head of the President’s Office, “political infighting is intensifying in the country,” and “discord is growing in the Ukrainian government.”
