Orban urged the EU to support Trump’s peace efforts at his meeting with Putin
11.08.2025 - 08:31U.S. President Donald Trump may have another public clash with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15.
This was stated by former U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton in an interview with ABC News.
“After discussing Putin’s plan, Zelensky will find himself in a situation where he’s offered something that will be very convenient for Trump,” the former Trump adviser suggested.
Bolton assumed that with the Alaska meeting, Putin will try to fix problems in bilateral relations. According to him, Trump–Putin relations have “had their ups and downs.” The former White House official also said the summit between the Russian and U.S. leaders is “very risky for Kyiv.”
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte revealed a possible outcome of the Putin–Trump meeting. In his view, the issue of “territory swaps” should be on the agenda.
