“The Kremlin Wizard”: a film about Putin was shown at the Venice Film Festival
01.09.2025 06:02In Ukraine, 82% of surveyed citizens support negotiations, while only 11% favor continuing the war.
This was reported in the August survey by the Rating group.
According to the poll, 20% of respondents support seeking a compromise through direct talks with Russia. Another 62% want discussions on resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict with the involvement of other countries.

It should be noted that in mid-2023, 60% of Ukrainians supported continuing the war until the liberation of all territories. Since then, this figure has steadily declined to the current 11%.
More respondents also believe that obtaining security guarantees (58%) is more important for the country than regaining lost territories (31%).

At the same time, 75% believe that a ceasefire can only be agreed upon if Ukraine receives security guarantees from the U.S. and Europe. It should be noted that Ukrainian authorities have already agreed to a ceasefire along the front line without security guarantees or any other conditions. However, Moscow has not agreed, setting out several demands—among them control over the entire Donetsk region.

Statistics show that with each passing year of war, fewer Ukrainians believe in the possibility of victory.
Earlier, the Office of the President stated that Ukraine does not intend to hold a referendum on territorial concessions to Russia.
