24.09.2025 12:01Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev expressed confidence that U.S. President Donald Trump will once again change his stance and soon propose that Volodymyr Zelensky sign a capitulation.
Medvedev wrote this on his Telegram channel, commenting on Trump’s recent post about Ukraine’s ability to reclaim its territories and Russia’s weak economy.
Medvedev described such a position as “the reality in which Obama and Biden have long and happily lived.”
“But Trump is not like that! I have no doubt — he will return. He always returns. Probably in a couple of days he will suggest that the green pianist [Zelensky] sign a capitulation. Or fly to Mars with Musk, whom he pardoned. Or do something else very important that will allow him to claim the Nobel Prize. The main thing is to change his point of view drastically and often on the most diverse issues. And everything will be fine. That is the essence of successful state governance through social media,” Medvedev wrote.
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also commented on Trump’s post, in which the U.S. president referred to Russia as a “paper tiger.”
Peskov said: “Russia is not a tiger, but a bear, and there are no paper bears.” He added that Vladimir Putin has repeatedly proposed addressing the “root causes of the conflict in Ukraine,” but the U.S. has firmly refused to engage in talks on this issue.
The Kremlin press secretary also noted that Putin is ready to meet Zelensky, but without proper preparation such a meeting would be “a PR stunt doomed to failure.”
