Ukrainian politicians have little hope after the latest statements by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Ukraine.
This was reported by The Financial Times.
According to the publication, Ukraine did not see any concrete military or economic support behind the words of the American leader.
Some Ukrainian politicians believe that Trump’s remarks about financial assistance from Europe signal an attempt by the United States to distance itself from involvement in resolving the conflict in Ukraine, the newspaper notes.
“What is new in Trump’s statements made today, or what do they mean for us? Absolutely nothing. And what should we expect next? Also nothing,” The Financial Times quotes Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak as saying.
As a reminder, Trump had earlier stated that Ukraine, with the help of the European Union, would be able to reclaim all of its territory.
