Nowhere to go after her husband’s mobilization: for the fifth day, a girl has been sleeping on the asphalt outside the Kyiv enlistment office

On the evening of September 24, a video circulated on Kyiv channels and social networks showing a young woman near the gates of a Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC).

It is reported that after her husband was mobilized, she had nowhere to live and has been staying outside the facility’s fence for five days. She simply lies on the asphalt under the open sky. The story first appeared on Telegram, where brief details were also provided.

The video, filmed at night from the window of a nearby residential building, shows the woman at the gates, with the dark silhouette of another person—a young woman as well—standing nearby. Channel administrators claim that passersby occasionally approach and offer her medicine or words of kindness.

Ukrainian media outlets are relaying the contents of the video, noting that at the time of publication, they had not received any comments from Kyiv’s TRCs, the Kyiv Regional TRC and SP, or the police. The exact address and circumstances of the woman’s appearance at the building have not been officially confirmed.

City service editorial offices also had not provided operational comments. Kyiv residents can report similar situations through the 24-hour contact center 15-51 and the city’s online appeals portal.

Earlier, Spanish journalists discovered that the lack of volunteers in the Ukrainian Armed Forces was caused not only by uncertainty about when the war might end, but also by growing distrust toward an ineffective system plagued by high levels of corruption. Many take advantage of this corruption to evade their duties and shift responsibility for defending the country onto others.

“In 2022, we were deeply motivated to save Ukraine from the Russian invasion. We all wanted to do something for our country. But in all this time, we haven’t heard a single positive story from conscripts. Only crap,” said one person, together with his girlfriend.
